Leaf Block Challenge Workshop Day, November 22, 2025
Our summer and fall challenge was to create Autumn Leaf blocks. Everyone must have really enjoyed this block challenge as we received 88 finished blocks by the time of the sew day.
On November 22 we held our fall We Care Sew Day, 14 members participated in various sew activities. Two leaf block quilts were finished complete with quilting and binding. 21 heart pillows we stuffed and hand sewn together ready for delivery to cancer patients.
Many partly finished quilts were taken home to be finished off they will be on display in the coming general meetings.
Thanks to everyone who made blocks and to those who came out to sew on this day of community project making.
We Care Workshop 2025
Heart Block Challenge Workshop Day, February 22, 2025
This past winter’s Heart Block Challenge is almost complete. It was very well received and has ended up a huge success.
We had our Heart sewing day on February 22nd and many members came out to spend a fun day together. Over 40 heart blocks were donated! Some of our guild members made heart blocks and quilts, and some made heart pillows. There were friends who came to help by stuffing the heart pillows. Others worked on their own quilts for We Care. It was a great time of fun and fellowship.
There will be a show-and-tell parade of completed quilts at the March meeting. The final tally of quilts and pillows will be reported in the April newsletter.
Completed heart quilts will be distributed to our community associations. Heart pillows are distributed to breast cancer patients. Both are wonderful contributions to our community.

If anyone has an idea for another winter challenge, please let us know. It would be great to have something every year to keep us busy doing what we love most – quilting!!
