Thank you to all the volunteers who supported the Deep Dive at Imagine High. We couldn't have done it without the support you gave! The students, most who had never used a sewing machine or quilted before, were so happy with their projects and most completed a lap sized quilt and a landscape project! Some even worked through their lunch to complete the quilt! There are some amazing future quilters/artists in the group and hopefully we will be able to continue a journey with them, many asked to have a June Deep Dive. The items will be kept until the June Exhibition at Imagine High then they will be donated to the community through We Care.

Everyone must have really enjoyed this summer / fall block challenge as we received 88 finished blocks by the time of the sew day.
We had 14 ladies come to the Sew Day at Community of Christ Church that Saturday November 22. Eleven tops were completed that day and 2 were completely quilted and bound! Wow! I look forward to seeing them all come back in the coming months!
Yes, you can drop them at Cozy Cottons during January and February just let us know they are there!
We will have a draw for all the ladies who completed blocks at the March meeting – but you must be in attendance to win!

AUTUMN LEAVES CHALLENGE
Your We Care committee has a new challenge for you – Autumn Leaves. We’re using the Scrappy Maple Leaf pattern from Canuck Quilter Designs.
The pattern includes instructions for two block sizes. We suggest you make the larger 7 ½” block and add borders so your completed block measures 12” (unfinished). One 2 ½” strip of fabric is sufficient for the borders. Please note there is one error in the pattern – cut 2 - 3 ½” A squares instead of the 3 squares listed.
Use any Autumn colours you want for the blocks, matching or scrappy. The background and borders can be scrappy too – anything goes!
Have fun making these Autumn Leaves blocks over the next few months. There will be a sewing day planned for later in the year when we can put them together into wonderful quilts for our community.
Thank you everyone!
