Langley Chartwell sent a request for a specialty quilt, we sent a message back referring them to the Langley quilt guild.

Elections in May, Janet will call for nominations. Lyn is standing for President, Bev for Vice-president, Jessica for Secretary.

Will ask Kate to confirm at the bank who the signing officers are on file.
Programs
May meeting will be Lisa Flower and Member Feature (Kim & Bev). June will be Pot luck.
Challenges
Intro the Library book challenge at the May meeting, put info also in the newsletter. Possibility of a Paint Chip challenge in the Fall.

We Care
Deep Dive at Image High School will go ahead, good member response to volunteer. Jessica and Trish are working out the schedule for the members and activities. Trish and Cherri will need a CRC completed. QuiltNut will donate fabric if needed.
Quilt Show
Will loan frames to the Day Guild for their show in October. Will check on repalcement of elbows if any are broken.
Workshop
Nancy is offering Free Motion quilting on May 31, need 12 members to sign up. Email for payment remind to be sent out.

April Meeting
New Business
A discussion was held talking about volunteer and Cut Above recognition. A decision to form a committee to develop criteria and guidelines was made, will ask for committee members at the April meeting. Cherri will write up some inforamtion to get the committee started. This year we will ask the members to submit names (to the guild email address) for recognition to announced at the June meeting, 3 total.

Charity donations have been delivered to the four selected places.
Programs
April speaker is the Exec Director and assistant from Ann Davis Transition House. Continuing with a mix and mingle. Also including a new and current member 'Get to know you'. May will be Lisa Flower.

We Care
Discussion about Deep Dive at Image High School for the last two weeks of June (Jessica's school). Will ask at the April meeting for volunteer interest in helping young people learn to quilt. If there is enough interest there will be a Zoom planning day set up. At the March meeting there were 29 quilts handed in and 20 heart block quilts, they have been sorted and are ready for delivery.
Day Retreats
Booked for Sat April 26, 14 signed up so far will ask again at the April meeting. Will invite the day guild to attend if our numbers are not 25.

Hospice sewing day was a success, Leah took it to do the long-arming. Poster for the Sardis Library sew day will be sent to the members. Spray and batting has been purchased. Riser to come form Canadian Tire. Heart challenge has 2 quilts made, 2 tops made and 20+ blocks.

Nacny is the instructor for Biscotti, date is Sat March 29. Need 4 or more to still sign up. Will send another email to our guild and then on to the day guild.

We Care
18 ladies came to the Heart Block Sew Day, it was very successful. 18 pillows were sent for Breast Cancer. A prize draw will be given for the participants of the sew day. Contact has been made with the teacher who was interested in quilting for children. Jessica will also we contacted about her school event. 30 quilts went to Bradley Centre, they will also now take wheelchair quilt. Delivery also made in Agassiz.
Workshops

Day Retreats
Booked for Sat April 26, no cost to members. Sign-up sheet will be at the March meeting. Will invite the day guild to attend.

Heart Challenge Sew day set for February 22 at Sardis Library, poster sent to members for details. Hospice Sew day set for February 1 at Cozy Cottons, poster sent to members for details. Will be purchasing risers and 505 spray. Large supply of donations have been picked up and are been sorted through for We Care and Thrift store delivery.

December is our annual potluck dinner with games. Will be asking members to loan a Christmas tablecloth for the dinner tables. Prizes will be purchased for the draws.

New Business
Discussion around having a quilt raffled in our off year from the quilt show. Selling tickets at the casino. Will investigate to possibility of this. Suggestion to implement co-leaders for the directors of the of the guild. Infomation will be sent to the members via the newsletter.
Programs
FAN will be presenting Up Close at the November meeting along with quilt show prizes and a mix/mingle activity.
Treasurer
New treasurer has had a training session, signing appointment at the bank is Nov 28. Document of the quilt show results will be sent to all members.
Member at Large
Circle format for the seating was well received. Discussion about seating with all the new members arriving.

Sew Day Nov 9 at Sardis Library, is set to go 14 members signed up to attend. A fabric donation is coming from a non-member. Possibility of working with Jessica at her school to offer simple quilting skills to her students. Will present a winter challenge - Heart blocks, collecting them for a Feb sew day to make one or more quilts. Pattern and presentation will be at the Nov and Dec meetings.
Fat Quarter
Colour for Nov - Christmas, Dec - pale blue and white. Bev will write an short article for the newsletter for the new members.
Day Retreat
Date is booked for Nov 23 at Community Christ Church.
Library
Past member Diane will spend time helping the new librarians to learn libib to enter new books. Trish will write library articles for the newsletter.
Quilt Show
Quilt show was well received by the public. Several notes of feedback have been received, they will be be talked about at a wrap up meeting early in Dec. Quilt frames are now stored at Dan/Angela's in town. A thank you and gift was delivered to Carolyn for all the years she stored them. At the November meeting prizes and ribbons will be awarded. Gift cards are ready to be delivered for the men helpers.

Still need a vice president. Treasurer has been filled by Kate D. Fat Quarter has been filled by Bev T. Suggestion box will not be set up. Will delay the 630 start vote to see if the alternating Show & Tell and We Care will help with meeting length.

Will be sending exec meeting minutes to all members via email. Send exec meeting link to all members with invite to the meetings.
Programs
October will be preparation for the quilt show and getting to know you activity. Will begin alternating months for Show & Tell and We Care.

An amendment will be voted on for the budget to cover the new library purchases. Floats for the cash boxes at the quilt show have been prepared. Cherri will complete the CQA renewal. still working on the square for the show, many not work out.

Lyn attended the Gathering of the Guilds meeting.

Held a We Care meeting outcomes are: Sew Day Nov 9 at Sardis Library. Leah will continue to track incoming and outgoing batting and backing. Create and inventory list of types of quilts on hand, ie: child, adult, wheelchair. For the quilt show the quilts on racks will be taged with 'I'm going to ...'. Creating a handout to be available at the quilt show on the We Care table.

Discussed ideas on how to promote the library more.
Quilt Show
Second casino selling day went well, recommend selling only on Fridays. 147 quilts registered. Demos - 3 members have signed up. Have contacted Carolyn/re: frames and Teresa/re: church furniture use. Suggest getting ribbons for the vendor to select a quilt. Made contact with Bob L to have Sandra's quilts for a memorial.
