June Meeting
Old Business
Inquires were made to the where the PA System was purchased, they have sent out a new mic and cord at no cost to the guild.
Programs
June will host the annual potluck with a presentation of SAQA's Trunk Show by Jennie Johnson the regional SAQA rep. September will feature Sue Jensen and her work followed by Matt Wheeler in October. Programs is looking for any members who would like to present their Fab Five.
We Care
All quilts received from now forward will be retained to display at the Quilt Show, after which they will be distributed to the community.
Membership/Registration
85 members are now signed up. Asking for next Septembers membership dues to be paid at the June meeting to ease the way for September and Darlene as Karlie will be absent that meeting.

Jane would welcome any short articles about your experience at Quilt Canada.
Quilt Show
Grace L will be distributing the Raffle Tickets to members to sell at the June and Sept meetings. Beatrice R has sent out an email with the 2018 show registration form (electronically done through email). All volunteer spots on the ticket sales sheet are now full.
Library
Tues 12th is the audit day for the library collection. There are many overdue books, Diane is going to send out reminders.
New Business
Anniversary table topper blocks are fully pieced thanks mostly to Laura B. Diane will purchase backing, We Care will donate the warm/natural, Grace L volunteered to quilt it and Ursula Y will be doing the binding. It should be ready for the Quilt Show entrance table.
A list of tools to share and the person sharing will be made up. It will be available to all members to encourage a sharing to tools that you might only use once or want to try out.

We will be looking to return the PA system bought and looking into a different system that is lighter and more portable.

Signup for ticket sales at the venues will continue at the May meeting, there a just a few spots left for each place. Grace L will be distributing the Raffle Tickets to members to sell at the May, June and Sept meetings. Beatrice R will be presenting to the quild at the May meeting the registration process for this coming 2018 show (electronically done through email). Posters are ready to be distributed around town by the members.
Workshops
Twoonie drop in sewing day is planned for May 5 Sat, Community of Christ Church Hall, 9845 Carleton St.
Library
Looking to do an inventory of the library in June. Will pull older books to contribute to the guild sale table for the quilt show.
Bus Trip
The Bus Trip to CQA on June 2 Sat is full. A few ladies have had to drop out, persons from the wait list have taken those spots.
Photography
New photographer is Kate D, she will be absent for the May and June meeting, Ineke V has volunteered to help out.
New Business
Pin cushion swap will be announced at the May meeting, they are to be completed over the summer and handed in at the Sept meeting for display at the Quilt Show, followed by the swap at the November meeting.
April Meeting
Old Business
The membeship vote at the March meeting approved the purchase of a PA system. It has been ordered. Job descriptions are still needed from some of the Executive positions.
Programs
The April meeting will host Craig Robinson, a chiropractor who will be talking about erognomics for sewing. 'Fav Five' presentations by Beatrice Rieske and Doris Froese. Gail Hunt will be our May presentor, 'Confetti Quilts'.
We Care
The workshop is planned for April 14 Sat at the Sardis Library, approximately 30 kits will be available for sewing. 25 members have signed up to attend. Saving 50 quilts for the Quilt Show display will begin.

83 members are now signed up. Five 'Quilt Buddies' signed up to assist our five newest members with guild orientation. Karri is stepping down to focus on Workshops. Darlene Turk volunteered to take her position.

Quilt Show
Ticket Sales for the Raffle Quilts will take place at 4 venues. Gwynne Vaughn Park, June 2 (Wendy will do set up). Chilliwack Day Guild, June 19 (Janet, Lyn will sell). Threshermans/Pioneer Village, Aug 11 (Karlie will do set up). Agassiz Fall Fair, Sept 14/15 (Cathy V will do set up). Categories set for the show. Rosette has been ordered. Raffle Licence has been applied for. Shirley V will be renewing her Food Safe, guild will pay half the cost. Guild Boutique will do a sign-up at April meeting (Sandra/Wendy).
Workshops
Tech workshops (Social Media, Photography, anything else techie) will be held at Chwk Library 10:00 to 12:30 on April 7 Sat. If a second date is needed it will be decided at the end of the April 7 meeting. Twoonie drop in sewing day is planned for May 5 Sat, waiting on confirmation of location. Requested a purchase of extension cords for future workshops, was approved.
Library
The libib instuctions will be rewritten and posted on the website.

Photography
Rachel will be stepping down. Request for a new photoprapher will be at the April meeting.
Retreat
March meeting did the sign-up for Retreat 2019 - it was completely signed-up/fully paid/deposits were collected. A wait list may be formed.

It was agreed upon by the Executive that a PA system should be purchased. This will go to a vote by the membeship at the March meeting.

The Second Prize quilt has the quilting fully completed by Grace L and is now having the binding completed by Darlene B. It was decided to have our two prize quilts on display when handing out the tickets to the membership. We are inquiring about selling tickets for one day at the Threasherman's during the Chilliwack Fair rather than the 3 days at the fair. Next Quilt show meeting Apr 4 after the Exec meeting.

The Bus Trip to CQA on June 2 Sat has only 5 places left to fill. These places are open to friends of guild members. The day guild will also be notified these are available.
Retreat
The Retreat that was newly attended was a huge success. Twenty heart pillows were produced. The Retreat 2019 has been booked for Feb 22, 23, 24. Sign up will be at the March meeting, requiring a $60 deposit with two further payments in Sept $100 and Nov $100.

Agreement to continue sending newsletters via email to past members, hoping to encourage them to re-sign up as a member.
February Meeting
Programs
February will comprise of demonstrations on English Paper Piecing, Embroidery, and Hand Quilting. Members are asked to bring samples from their quilt collect on these techniques to share. March - Terry Aske Trunk Show. May - Gail Hunt Trunk Show.
We Care
A second letter has been received thanking the guild for their donation of a quilt to their family.
Purchasing two more rolls of batting. Kits will be availble at guild meetings. Looking to book another We Care Sewing day at Sardis Lib, date to be announced.

Second meeting for commitee leaders was held Feb 7. All leadership jobs have been filled. First prize quilt is fully completed, second prize quilt is ready for long arm quilting. Advertising posters and postcards have been printed. Wanda (Challenge Quilt Project), Kate (posters & raffle baskets), Sandra & Wendy (boutique table) will be making presentations at the Feb meeting.

A credit has been secured from a letter sent with a complaint on the decorations from the Anniversary Cake.
Programs
November will host a Quilt Canada speaker Marcy Horswill, Diane will be reviewing the library searching tools, Karlie will be introducing the Journal Challenge. December will be Pot Luck, games and a Secret Santa exchange.
We Care
Almost all quilts donated to BC Wildfires Relief for families in need have been delivered by the MP of the area.

77 members signed up at this time. Decided that the guild membership list will be sent to all members.

Reports are due by Weds 8 Nov. A request for a small article to be written and submitted to Jane about your cohort group if you belong to one.
Quilt Show

Youth Bags
Check the We Care page under Programs for a list of what is still needed. It was agreed that budget money (under donations) would be spent to purchase what was not donated and was needed to fil the bags. Bag filling day was set for Sat Dec 2, location still to be announced.
Workshops
Workshop in Abbotsford at 'Strung out on Beads' has 9 participants, there is space for one more. Carpooling will be arranged. Clipboard will be passed around again at the November meeting to ask for workshop requests or volunteers to teach. Checking into a Retreat/Sewing Day for early December open to all members ($2 cost to members, guild will pay venue rental).

Last payment of $100 is due at November meeting, reminder announcment will be in Newsletter and emailed to participants.

CQA sponsorship of $250 will be sent and requested to be attributed to Viewers Choice.

Quilt Show
A call for committee leaders will be continued at the October meeting. A link was added to the Webpage with instructions on making a block to contribute to a Second Prize Quilt for the show, we are hoping for about 50 from the members.
Youth Bags
Lots of donations came in at the Sept meeting, Janet will be making a new list of what is still needed, it will be posted in the newsletter.
Workshops
Arrangements are being made for a workshop in Abbotsford at 'Strung out on Beads', more info on a date, cost, supplies to be given at the October meeting. Checking into a 'Tech Drop-In' possibly held on a Saturday at Chwk Sr Sec. Clip board will be passed around at the October meeting ask for workshop ideas.
September Meeting
Programs
September will be the Brithday Celebration of the guild's 20th Anniversary. Free fabric swatches of the design contest will be handed out to the paid members. Beatrice Rieske will be doing a demo on the correct way to attach borders and sashing.
Fat Quarter Draw

We Care
The guid received a card from the Ann Davis Transition house thanking us for the quilts Susan dropped off in the summer. The committee would like to organize a workshop in Sardis library in November to make quilts with 6 inch squares. Gail will write a report about the We Care program to be included in the Garrison newsletter. Beatrice is collecting heart pillows for cancer patients.
Membership - Registration
Reminder your membership fees are due at the September meeting, the cost is $30.00 (same as last year). If paying my cheque please make it out to the CHILLIWACK PIECEMAKERS QUILT GUILD. If paying by cash please place it in an envelop with your name on it. In both situations please include your memebership number.
Newsletter
Jane invites all members to contribute to the newsletter. Tell about a show you visited, a retreat you attended, new pttern you are trying, blogs you visit, cohorts you sew with, really anything that would interest another quilter.
Library
Fines for overdue due books are due to be paid. Diane will be placing an article in the newsletter reminding everyone how to use the online library seaching tools for our book collection.
Sunshine - Hospitality
New cards with the Guild logo will be printed as we are running low. The new ones will be in colour.
Quilt Show
The committee for the Raffle Quilt will have their first sewing day on Sat 23rd Sept. The fabric for the quilt was purchased during the summer. A call for committee leaders will be conducted at the September meeting.
Retreat
Lyn will be collecting the next payment for the Feb 2018 retreat.
Youth Bags
We will begin collecting donated items for the Youth Bags, a list of requested items will be available to view. Money earned from the raffles at the 2016 Quilt Show will subsidize the purchase of some of the items needed for the bags.
