Free Motion Quilting

The sewing machines buzzed and hummed as eight quilters learned to slooooowwww down and practice their new free motion quilting skills.  

The students enthusiastically guided their machines through straight lines, wobbly lines, circles, spirals; then executed perfect corners, and stippled and meandered on a variety of quilt samples. 

Gaining confidence in their machine stitching was the primary focus, as well as gaining creative ideas and starting points for future projects. We closed the day with some pointers for thread painting and a demo on quilting with rulers.

Oh, and there was also a lot of laughter and friendly chatter throughout the day...and I believe a successful fun day of learning for everyone.
